British Shorthair kittens for Yorkshire families

Calm and devoted, the teddy bears of the cat world — Britain’s oldest pedigree breed and a quietly affectionate companion.

Most Yorkshire families use an approved courier; we coordinate the handover end-to-end. Leeds sits roughly 250 miles from us.

We breed and raise our kittens in our family home in Sherborne, Dorset, and place them with families across the UK. Wherever you are, the standards stay the same — GCCF registration, full health screening, raised in everyday domestic life, and a long handover when the time comes.

We’ve placed kittens with families in Leeds, Sheffield, York, Bradford and Harrogate.

Visiting us, video viewings & approved couriers

  • Visit in person — we welcome buyers to come to our home and meet the kittens with their mum once they’re old enough. A visit is the best way to choose your kitten and to see how they’ve been raised.

  • Video viewings — when distance makes a visit difficult, we’ll set up a live video call so you can meet your kitten, see the home environment and ask any questions in real time.

  • Approved pet couriers — for longer journeys we coordinate transport with insured, vet-checked pet courier services. We’ll only use couriers we trust to handle a young pedigree kitten gently and to UK welfare standards.

  • Handover — every kitten leaves us no earlier than 13 weeks old, fully vaccinated, microchipped, vet-checked and litter-trained, with a settling-in pack.

Why UK families choose Felis Magicae

Small and ethical, GCCF registered, raised in our family home rather than a facility, and underpinned by a BSc (Hons) in Zoology. Health-test certificates are published openly on every parent’s profile — there’s nothing to chase or guess at.

Yorkshire buyer FAQ

Can we collect our kitten in person, even from far away?

Yes — and most families do. We love meeting buyers and seeing where their kitten will be living through their stories. Plan to spend an hour or two with us so we can run through care, paperwork and the settling-in pack properly.

How does courier delivery work?

We use specialist pet couriers with full insurance and welfare credentials. Your kitten travels in a calm, climate-controlled vehicle and the courier checks in with us at every stop. We coordinate the booking and brief the courier on your kitten’s temperament.

What happens if I can’t visit before deciding?

We’ll arrange a live video call so you can meet your kitten, see the family home environment and ask anything you’d like. We won’t rush you into reserving — taking on a pedigree kitten should be a confident decision.

When can the kitten leave?

No earlier than 13 weeks old, in line with GCCF guidance. By that point they’ve had their full vaccination course, a vet check, microchip, and have been fully weaned and litter-trained.

Will the kitten settle after a long journey?

Most kittens are noticeably tired for the first 24 hours after travelling. We provide detailed settling-in guidance and we’re always at the end of the phone for the first few weeks if you have questions.
